    Hi,

I’m interested in the cutting bed of the LC6090 laser cutter. It seemed from the photos that the bed was a flat sheet of metal (aluminum maybe). When you cut flat sheets of material, do you simply lay them flat on the bed? From what i’ve seen most other laser cutters have some sort of honeycomb metal structure such that the laser is not hitting metal after going through the material. If the lasercutter does not have a honeycomb bed, do you find that the laser “cuts” the metal behind the material?

    thanks,

    Will

    HI,
Loved your review on your laser, we are thinking of buying one and I was wondering if you are still happy with yours 12 months down the track.
    regards

Interested in how well the G.Weike LC6090 Laser Cutter/Engraver has held up. I am looking to purchase a Laser cutter/engraver for my Computer Aided Drafting/Design and Woodworking classes. After reading your posted article I was convinced that G. Weike Lasers might be one of the few good China brands that I should look further into before buying. After a year of use, would you still recommend the company/laser. This there any other recommendation(s) you can give to a first laser cutter/engraver buyer?

    Best Regards,

I found that the flat metal bed didn’t act as the best cutting surface, I would get a lot of burning on the bottom of materials. I ended up ordering a honeycomb table from the same supplier and have had much cleaner cuts and better ventilation. I would highly recommend the upgrade.

I’ve had the laser system for well over a year now and can say that it has consistently been a great system. I’ve had zero issues, and use the system on a pretty consistent basis. I’ve successfully cut thick sheets of wood and plexi, down to delicate pieces of window film. I’ll try to get some pictures of recent projects up.
